Abstract
Health workers have an important role in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Working in a stressful environment can affect the mental well-being of health workers and cause fatigue which can give rise to burnout syndrome. Physical activity is one of the factors causing burnout syndrome. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the relationship between physical activity and the incidence of burnout after the peak of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic among health workers at RSD Dr. Soebandi Jember. This cross-sectional analytical observational study was conducted from November to December 2021 and involved 84 doctors and nurses who worked at RSD Dr. Soebandi. Data was collected using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire and the Maslach Burnout Inventory. Ordinal logistic regression test analysis shows that there is a significant relationship between work activities and burnout level (p=0.04). In this study, the impact of physical activity on burnout was 0.32. So it can be concluded that work activities are sufficiently related to the occurrence of burnout syndrome. The results of this study suggest that further research should be carried out using more objective research methods on factors that may influence burnout to obtain appropriate recommendations for preventing burnout syndrome.
